Since the Brexit vote I have been interested in exploring the areas of society which have mostly chosen to leave the EU. Coincidently, the ones with the greatest density of ‘leavers’ are by the seaside, where there is a high concentration of poverty, malnutrition, gross obesity, disability and lack of real community infrastructures. It seems to me while in this country there are areas which flourish and move with the times in many aspects,  some of these communities by the seaside have been victim of huge social neglect and have, because of that, held on to the belief that the past and every value it stood for was a better place for them.
